01/03/2025 SONGS!

I can get lost in compiling a playlist of songs that I call SONGS.

A neurotypical person would have given it a more poetic title, but I call a playlist of songs SONGS. The list, the name of the list, and the songs in the list are a beacon of clarity in an unclear world.

08/03/2025 TATTOOS TELL STORIES -

Tattoos tell stories. They are more than ink on skin—they are memories, identities, and silent declarations of who we are. Some mark pivotal moments in life, others serve as reminders of love, loss, or personal philosophy. In The Forest School, every tattoo has a story, just like every participant.

"My mother left a lasting imprint on me; you could say. That's why I chose her thumbprint - after she died."

"In many cultures, it is seen as a representation of the journey of life, with its continuous loops mirroring the cyclical nature of existence. For some, a spiral tattoo signifies growth and evolution, as the pattern can symbolize the idea of expanding consciousness and the continuous progress of the soul."

""A semicolon is used when an author could've chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you, and the sentence is your life." Project Semicolon.

Those who choose to get a semicolon tattoo design show their solidarity with those who face mental health issues, honour someone or the wearer is commemorating their own experiences. They’re joined together by a community with the same tattoo inked on their skin."

"They can be symbols of strength, resilience, and rebirth as much as they can be reminders of the beauty that surrounds us. For some, trees are also inherently religious and a part of creation: In the Bible, the Tree of Knowledge is in the Garden of Eden and represents wisdom and temptation."

My tattoo is my favorite character from Dungeons and Dragons. The one I always play. She's colorblind but when she hurts someone and they bleed or get a bruise or.., she sees color!

15/03/25 A poem by K.V.D.

22/03/25 Visit to the Arenberg

Our atelier @ Middelheimmuseum was occupied. So we worked @ Arenberg today. One of our coproducers!

(This is not the complete ensemble, ed.)

29/03/25 THEMES

After eight weeks in the laboratory
we're closing this chapter with a thematic ritual.
We’ve found our questions.
We know what aches, what sings, what must be said.

Whispers of home and belonging.

Of language and labels.

Of care, and what happens in its absence.

Of masks we wear, and the ones we lay down.

Next week, we shape it all into five acts.
